So you want to get your team onboard with TimeHero? Here's how to launch TimeHero the right way and get everyone on board.

  4. Agree on a plan and timeline (00:35 to 00:50)

1. Why TimeHero?

Here's where you can refer to the pain points you thought about while reading the previous article. Refer back to it for more details, and here are some examples:

  • Focus on crushing deadlines, not planning
  • Fewer update meetings
  • Have a clear idea of your priorities
  • Stay on track more easily
  • Stop searching for relevant info

The goal here is to identify where your team is struggling and how you see TimeHero helping. This can get off track quickly, so try to stay focused on the issues that TimeHero can help with, and leave any other issues for a separate meeting.

2. Demo TimeHero features

This is where, after establishing why you need TimeHero's help and what the benefits are, you show your team how TimeHero works in practice. 

This is a good point to walk through your pilot project, covering:

  • How TimeHero plans work automatically for all involved
  • You see the projected finish date at a glance
  • Tagging other team members in comments and attaching files
  • Creating templates so you can easily repeat processes
  • Quickly add and assign tasks using the inbox
  • Using the mobile app to stay on track on-the-go

3. Show how you use TimeHero

Show your team how you've set up folders, projects, and tasks, and how it's helping you manage your time. Drill down into a project and open a task to show how you've structured your work. You can always change this later, and encourage your team to play around to find out what works best.

4. Agree on a plan

Finally, decide together on some action items. Here's what we suggest:

  • Pick a project (or a few) to try out together in TimeHero. Each project should have an 'owner' – one team member responsible for setting it up, creating tasks, and assigning tasks. If it's something that might be repeated in the future, build it as a template!
  • It should be the role of each project owner to ensure that tasks are getting added, updated, and completed.
  • It takes most teams around two months to fully learn and adopt TimeHero.
  • Create a test project that your team can use to play around creating tasks, assigning tasks, commenting in activity feeds, etc.

Tip: When having a meeting with other team members, whether impromptu or organised, try to get in the habit of responding to action items with "assign that to me in TimeHero" or "add that to TimeHero." This not only helps track action items, it reinforces with other team members what to do when work needs to be done.
